Social Media Internship

Hey, You! Obviously you Facebook and Tweet all day. But do you check in on foursquare, check out on Bizzy, answer on Quora, and have your own Youtube, Vimeo, and Blip.tv channels? Did you #justmeet @Jack using Hashable, connect on LinkedIn, and tumbl your fave hipster Ariel meme all while brushing your teeth and catching up on the latest social media news on Mashable.com?

We're looking for interns who know what's up in the social media world: what works and what doesn't, how to create and share good content and get people to like your internet self. In addition, you will learn about eLearning startups, and you will help create a variety of social marketing/blogging initiatives related to Brainscape.

Our ideal candidate will a)love social media and b)be able to commit 20+ hrs/wk at Brainscape. Although the internship is unpaid, there is a possibility of an eventual offer for longer-term employment if the fit is right. Please check out our website at www.brain-scape.com before applying.

Responsibilities

  • Write numerous cogsci, psych, language, and learning-related blog posts
  • Moderate Brainscape’s presence in social media outlets (Facebook, Twitter, Blog, Youtube,...)
  • Shoot and edit numerous (short) Brainscape team videos (be our YouTube Brand Ambassador!!)
  • Engage Brainscape in top learning and language communities
  • Correspond with media outlets (bloggers, journalists, reporters) to coordinate interviews with Brainscape

Minimum Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of today's social media landscape
  • Willingness to email and call bloggers, experts, and media contacts on a regular basis
  • Experience with a social media marketing campaign
  • Punctuality, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to devote at least 20 hours a week

Qualifications that will Set You Apart

  • Major in Cognitive Science, Psychology, Neuroscience
  • Experience creating and/or maintaining a well-trafficked blog (on any topic)
  • Intermediate proficiency in HTML and web design
