Q

Star trails

A

A window should face south for gardening where the plants get the most light.

Goes east to west looking souther direction.

Sun goes clockwise if.sr’fgls;aflmg’s;akfmhs;kfg

Polaris - doesnt move very much from our perspective because the Earth’s north pole pulls diercty towards it. All the other stars will look like it’s moving around it

Space has a lot of circular stuff
Geometry

Look North it looks counterclockwise
Look south it looks clockwise

Q

Constellations

A

Bunch of artwork and mythologies connected to constellations

(Orion) depicted sometimes with a sheild and a sword bow and arrow hunted Orions belt

Worst game of connect the dots bruh

Lepus Hair that he’s hunting

Canis Major and Canis Minor are the dogs Major the big dog Minor the small dog

The sky is complicated so that was a way to make sense of it. So interesting that’s connected to psychology.
Scorpio is seen by Orion

Some constellations that appear in some parts of the world that you will never see in ither parts

Austalia doesnt have the little dipper

Monoseros - more modern to fill the gap means. A unicorn

88 constellation fill the entire sky

Q

Celestial Sphere

A
  • Stars at different distances all appear to lie on the celestial sphere
  • The 88 official constellations cover the entire celestial sphere

The sun cuts through the zodiac signs
Sun signs

Your sign serves at a function of where the sun is at at a given time
It used to be correct but not anymore
The sun

The sun during that month is right in front of that constallelation

If you could block out the sun today and look at all the stars, you wouldve seen aquarius (Feburary 10 today)

Things have shifted for the last years. If you’re aquarious you’re actually capricorn
RYAN WOULD LOVE THIS INFO LOL

Perception of the Equanonsis
Earth North’s Pole wobbles
A few thousand years ago the North Star was not Polarius it was…Thuben or fooben

Egyptions believed that’s where your souls go when you die

Then its polaris

It will eventually be Aduv

Zodiac

A

CIrcle of Animals. We’re a month behind. I think that means I’m Aquarius if Aquarias is right before Pisces

Q

Ecliptic

A

The apparent path through the celestial sphere

23 and a half is the axial tilt

Difference betwreen line corespioinds ecliptic plane and line that corresponds with equator. As above As below

More tilt, more distance, no tilt, no distance

Q

Sun directions

A

Equanox only directly east and west sun

Rise slightly south of east and slighly south oferst durinhg winter

During summer slightly north of east and slightly north of rest’

Right no wFeburary kinda winter
Somehwere around March 21 is Equanox

My proffessor is EKKo?

DUe to suns orbit sun feb to march sun does the opposite moves to the left»]]??
During teh day the sun moves to the right bc of the rotation not the

Everyday it moves a little less than one degree. 360 degrees a circle one year has 35 days

Q

WINTER MYSTERY AND

A

You get less daylught during the summer
Where the sun is lowest in the sky the Arch is smaller it’s not in the sky for as long its lower down theres also lower solar radiation which is also a factor that causes our seasons
Ohhhhhhh

During summer its higher up so its in the sky a lot

23 and a half degree mark limitation?

longer

Alt

A

Altitude numbers correspond to latitude

IM SO SICK OF THAT ATTITUDE
NObody bE me on that latitude

If 60/90 degress latitude, means north star /directly overhead

Q

Horizon

A

Always 90 degrees away from Zenith
Tells you what you can see from the sky
IF youre in the southern hemsephere you see different things than the northern hemisphere. Austrailia doesnt see the little dipper. Because it doesnt go past their horizon or something. It has to go below our horizon for someone below us to see us

Q

Angular Measurement

A

One degree covered by a single finger

Full circle 360

1 degree =-17.222 °C 60 Archminute
Divide Archminute in 60 = Archseconds

Invented for more precision

3,600 parts one of those parts from your finger is an archsecond

Q

Angular Size and Distance <— Know

A

Data = S/R or Data = S over R

Ratio of Archlength divided by raidus

If oyu know the distance away it is wihch corresponds to radiys and you know where the angle then you can figure our the last varuable which is the arch length this arch length corresponds to the physcial size

The sky qual to S/R \

Fata .. physiocal object of the moon divded by the distance

S arch length around..l;lrgka[spjgsie

Know diameter of the moon and distnace

Physical size divided by radius or dsitance would be equal to your angle

Distance is your ….s;lr’k radius?

Conversions from radius to degrees’S or R answer in term of radiants
Dgerees like finger multiply ratio of 360 for every two pi radiants.

The asnwer should be .5 one half of a degree cuz half your finger can cover the moon.

Q

Stars Rise and Set

A

Earth rotates from west to east, so stars appear to circle from east to west.

Constillation latitudde would be the same but longitude you may not be able to see tgen atnight
Opprtunity to see the same stars but sun ….
