What is atheist?
A person who believes there is no God
What is agnostic?
Someone who believes there is not enough evidence to believe there is a God
What is enlightenment?
The gaining of true knowledge of God or self
What is impersonal nature?
God has no human characteristics
What is ultimate reality?
The supreme, final, fundamental power in all reality
What is anthropic principle?
The idea that the structure of the universe and its contents are for the purpose of supporting human life
What is evolution?
The gradual process in which an organism develops from earlier, less complex forms of life over many generations
What is natural selection?
The mechanism of evolution whereby organisms that are best adapted to their surroundings are those that survive to reproduce and pass on their successful genes
What is random variation?
The chance mutation of genes that produce slight differences ion characteristics of an organism. The mutations are passed on through natural selection if they happen to help survival
What is the Big Bang?
The idea that the universe began with the rapid expansion of matter from an initial point of infinite density
What is general revelation?
Knowledge about God discovered by natural means, such as through observation of nature, philosophy and reasoning
What is immanent?
Present or inherent as a natural and permanent part of something
What is impersonal?
Not existing as a person, or having emotions or personality
What is omnipotent?
All-powerful or unlimited power
What is omniscient?
All-knowing or unlimited knowledge
