The 1798 rebellion also know as the united irshmens rebellion. It was a rebelion against British rule

1.the position of Catholics. Catholics made up 75% of the population of the island but only owned 15% of the land. Catholics were discriminated by the penal laws. This discrimination is apart of why the Irish rebellion was caused
