who are members of supply chain?

why do all members of supply chain need to be dependable?

Answer 1

1. Group of firms that are involved in all various processes required to make a finished product
2. chain begin with provider of raw materials ( supplier) and ends with firm that sells the finished product
3. suppliers ( people that sell)
   manufactures ( make product)
   distributors ( people buy products from manufacture
4. if they are not dependable they would be unreliable meaning quality will be poor which reflects badly on the business or products wont be on the shelves.

what are 3 factors a business needs to consider when choosing which supplier to use?

Answer 2

1. price : business need decide how much they are willing to pay
   - some that have fast delivery may charge higher prices
   - cheaper supplier may have lower quality products.
2. quality : quality needs to be consistent.
   - growth of internet may allow customers to look elsewhere and business that has poor quality customers may not buy from them because they wont be satisfied.
3. reliability : if business cant supply its own customers they may loose customer because supplier takes to long to deliver on time
