We often call electricity power.
The power went out during the storm. ( the lights went out)

Power outage in US usually happen because of wether conditions.
The power only went out for a second. It’s back on already.

The electricity MAKES UP the majority of utilities that I pay.
Electricity is the largest percentage of my utilities.

So, you make down payment, take out a loan, and then you pay MONTHLY PAYMENTs ON the loan.

MONTHLY PREMIUMS
Pay premiums for a service-pay a very high price
With insurance, you BUY a POLICY, and then you pay MONTHLY premiums.
People are willing to pay a PREMIUM to stay at fancy hotels on the beach here in Da Nang.
In the US, people PAY:
Car insurance
Homeowner insurance
Renters insurance
Life insurance
Health insurance
Dental insurance
Vision insurance
Many jobs do not OFFER health insurance because it’s not mandatory to do so.
Job benefits:

MATERNITY LEAVE
RETIREMENT PLAN
Company in the US are not required to provide any of these benefits

People have to submit a claim WITH their insurance companies
Companies REVIEW claims and decide whether or not they’re going to pay for people’s expenses, and if so, how much they’re going to pay.
If they APPROVE a claim, they PAY SETTLEMENT.
If they don’t approve a claim, they pay nothing.

Sometimes, people have to pay penalty or late fees ON TOP OF the normal payment if they get behind of their bill.
I couldn’t make rent on time so now ON TOP OF that I have to pay $50 a day for every day that I’m late.
I MISSED my car payment and they CHARGED me a $50 late fee.
