What is the project context?
The project context is the sum of all environmental factors that
- can have an impact on
- or be restricted by the project and its results.
What are the stakeholders?
‘an individual, group, or organization, who may affect, be affected by, or perceive itself to be affected by a decision, activity, or outcome of a project’
Project stakeholders are entities that have an interest in a given project.
Why is stakeholder management so important?
- Project success requires stakeholder satisfaction
- stakeholders can help or harm the project
Explain at least 3 stakeholder management strategies.
- Participative
- > stakeholder as partners
- > actively involved in definition, planing, decisions..
- Consultative (active)
- > get advice from stakeholders
- > e.g. status meetings, negotiations
- Discourse-based (reactive)
- > argue with SH in case of objections and complaints
- > conflict management and deescalation
- Repressive/Restrictive
- > no discussion with SH
- > one-way communication e.g. newsletter, project report
