maternity and child welfare act
1918- increased maternity benefits

1920- extended the 1911 act to more occupations

1921- after 26 weeks of payments under the national insurance scheme there would be transitional payments (the dole) to keep the uneployed out of the workhouse
unemployed dependants act
1921- gave benefits to the families of unemployed workers
housing act
1919- due to housing shortage of over 1/2 million homes, local authorities were to build low rent houses at the rate of 70000 a year. These were called council houses and building was subsidised by £260 a house and 213000 were built
coal mines act
1919- guaranteed a 7 hour day for miners
agriculture act
1920- guaranteed agricultural prices to help farmers and also protected labourers wages by a special board
