153
Q

rules

A

Adjectives ending in -o, you change the -o to -i to make it masculine plural, to -a to make it feminine singular, and to -e to make it feminine plural.

Adjectives ending in -e stay the same for both masculine and feminine singular, but you change the -e to an -i for masculine and feminine plural.

Many adjectives that tell a person’s nationality end in -e

If an adjective ends in -go or -ga, you add an h between the g and the ending vowel to maintain the hard g sound, like so: lungo/ lunghi

For adjectives ending in -co or -ca, only the feminine form adds an h between the c and the ending vowel, as in simpatica/ simpatiche (nice). The masculine form simply changes the -o to an -i, going from simpatico to simpatici, and the c makes a soft sound.
