What is a motor programme
An abstract representation that once initiated results in the production of a coordinated movement sequence
What is a GMP
A motor programme whose expression can be varied depending on the choice of certain parameters
Explain noise in systems
There is noise in all systems so outputs differ
Nothing perfectly repeatable or controllable
E.g thermal, thresholds for action potentials ect
Explain lack of control
Things that may look like Joyce may not be, are just complex
You need to be able to measure them to see them
Criticise mean and standard deviation
Things can have the same meaning/ standard deviation
However this dosent represent the curve
Does not represent all values in the data set
Must use measures which account for signal complexity and change over time
What is prescription
Define everything that is going to happen and how (motor programmes)
What are constrains
Restrict certain things from happening
E.g rules change to allow Fosbury flop
