Arrythmia EKG Findings Flashcards
(13 cards)
Sinus Tachycardia
Regular, fast HR
Usually none, maybe B-blockers
Sinus Bradycardia
Regular, Slow HR
None, atropine
First Degree AV Block
PR interval longer than 5 boxes
No treatment
Second Degree AV Block (Mobitz 1)
Increasing length of PR interval until one skips.
No treatment
Second degree AV Block (Mobitz 2)
Some P waves do not conduct
Often no treatment, may pace
Third Degree AV Block
No connection between P and R
Pacing if ventricular rate or BP are too low
Atrial Flutter
Sawtooth, pulse may be regular or irregular
Anticoagulants, Rate control, Cardioversion, Ablation
Atrial Fibrillation
Irregularly irregular, no P waves
Anticoagulants, Rate control, Cardioversion, Ablation
Atrial tachycardia
Abnormal P waves, narrow QRS, fast HR
Adenosine, vagal maneuver, B blocker, verapamil or diltiazem
Junctional Rhythm
No P waves (or retrograde), Regular, narrow QRS.
Typically no treatment needed
Premature atrial contraction
Premature beat, preceded by abnormal P wave, narrow QRS
Premature Ventricular Contraction
Wide QRS, No P-wave
Usually none, maybe B-blockers
Ventricular tachycardia
Wide abnormal QRS, No P wave, can involve reentry
Amiodarone, lidocaine, cardioversion
