What is aspirin

A
  • COX (cyclooxygenase) inhibitor, with inhibition of platelet aggregation
    -Anti-platelet aggregator and reduces clot formation

COX is an enzyme responsible for the formation of Prostaglandins (fatty hormones)

.Known Allergy
.Active GI bleed
.Haemophillia or clotting disorder
.Severe hepatic failure
.<16yrs old causes Reye Syndrome
