Q

How may the post radio or the UHF radio in the Cheif’s car be used to broadcast emergency messages via the subway repeater? (5.3)

A

These radios have a reverse frequency feature which allows the Post or UHF to transmit on the frequency of the HT repeater channel. The strength of the Post or UHF (45 watts) may penetrate into dead spots. But due to the limitations of the XTS 3500 HT (5 watts) units may not be able to respond.

On the Post and UHF radios, “Rev Subway 1” will transmit if channel 14 fails, and “Rev Subway 2” will transmit if channel 15 fails.
