A disease that can be transmitted from one person to another. E.g flu, ebola.

What is a pathogen?

a bacterium, virus, fungi, protist or other microorganism that can cause disease.

Plasmodium, cause of malaria

How does bacteria cause disease?

Bacteria reproduce and produce toxins in the body

How do viruses cause disease?

Live and reproduce in cells causing cell damage

Free from bacteria or other living microorganisms

Hygiene
