Imeptigo- Eti

S. aureus or GAS. Contagious superficial infection. Children. Bullous (systemic illness) V. non-bullous (more common)

Non-bollus: erosions with honey colored crusts face, trauma sites, kids
Bollous- Flaccid vesicle, little erythema

Cleansing, mupiricin ointment. If MRSA- doxy or bactrim

Superficial cellulitis involving dermal lymph. Common in lower leg, face with systemic sx. Group A strept. Painful

Painful, edematous, circumscribed, hot without vesicles, tender common in face and legs with fever and chills

Penicillin derivative or clindamycin

S. aureus or GAS. lower extremity. Reduced host defense, DM, alcoholics

Edematous, expanding, erythematous, warm plaque. Pain, malaise, chills & moderate fever

Corynebacterium- common in intertrigenous areas- webspaces

Sharply marginated erythema w/o satellite lesions, vesiculation or inflammation. Hyper pigmentation

Woods lamp- coral red flourescence

AlCl 25%, benzoyl peroxide, topical abx

keratolysis due to enzyme lysis of stratum corneum. Most common in sweaty, malodorous feet, pressure sites
