Children celebrate birthdays in different ways.
Some children invite friends and cut the cake. Older children take their friends out for a party. Some people celebrate by donating for charity.

I like to receive clothes, books, flowers as gifts. I take gifts as gestures of love. So I happily accept anything that anybody brings for me.
