Q

If 25cm3 of 0.100mol/dm3 sodium hydroxide solution was titrated with dilute hydrochloric acid, with the mean titre as 20cm3, calculate the concentration of the acid.

A
  1. 100mol/dm3 * 0.025dm3 = 0.0025mol

0. 0025mol / 0.020dm3 = 0.125mol/dm3

Q

If 25cm3 of 0.400mol/dm3 sodium hydroxide solution was titrated with dilute sulfuric acid, with the mean titre as 10cm3, calculate the concentration of the acid.

A
  1. 400mol/dm3 * 0.025dm3 = 0.010mol
  2. 010mol / 2 = 0.0050mol
  3. 0050mol / 0.010dm3 = 0.5mol/dm3
