4

Axillary cannulation used when?

When problem suspected with aorta/aortic root

5

Arterial you don't want more than a _____mm gradient between line pressure and patient pressure at a flow of ___ L/Min

100mm
5 L
(look at a graph)

6

Why is IVC bigger than SVC?

More return coming back from lower extremities

7

Gravity matters in venous system in determining what size cannula T/F?

True

8

3-4kg baby with flow somewhere 800-900 cc what size approx in SVC/IVC?

12 Fr in SVC
14 Fr in IVC

9

LV vent is placed in the_______

Right superior pulmonary vein

10

Partial bypass may require a ______, why?

Vent
Because, you want to prevent distention

11

Most common type of cannula?
