May be a fatal side effect of antipsychotic meds. Muscle rigidity, high fever, increased muscle enzymes and leukocytosis
Med that may cause Agranulocytosis
Clozapine. Failure of bone marrow to produce WBC. Fever, malaise, sore throat, and leukopenia.
What are Extrapyramidal Side Effects
Pseudoparkinsonism, Dystonia, Akathisia
Positive S/S of Schizophrenia
Delusion, Hallucination, Disorganized thinking or speech
Negative S/S of Schizophrenia
flat affect, lack of volition (no desire to do something), social withdrawal, or discomfort.
Dx of Schizophrenia
At least two or more of the positive symptoms for 1 month period
May have negative symptoms as well
