why are oceans salty
the salts stay in the ocean because there is no new flow of water going in or out of the ocean and when water is evaporated the salts are left behind.
why does salinity vary in different parts of the world
near the the equator heavy rainfalls over the ocean increase the amount of fresh water in the ocean so salinity is lower there. In dry areas like the Red sea which is surrounded by deserts recives little rainfall, hot dry winds from the desert blowing over the water speeds evaporation and evaporated salts are left behind and where rivers empty lower salinity.
if you are given two cups of water on salt and the other fresh how can you determine which without tasting
checking the density by putting two items in water and seeing witch one floats more and you can put them at a window to evaporate and the salt water will leave salt behind
where would you expect to find more living organisms in cold or warm ocean water
cold, because gasses dissolve more easily in cold and both plants and animals depend on these dissolved gases to live.

temperatures, density, pressure, salinity, composition, light
Why does visibility get worse the deeper you go in water
because the sun can’t penetrate the water
What happens to to water as it freezes to form ice
As water freezes to form ice the water expands and contracts until the temperature reaches 38 degrees f
what would happen if you suddenly brought a organism from the bottom of the marina trench to the surface of the ocean
they would explode because there bodies would be used to living under a lot of pressure then they would start expanding and die.
