Flashcards in Chapter 14 & 15 Vocab Deck (19)
A material which light can pass through in straight lines.
A material which light cannot pass through because it is reflected or absorbed.
Color that reflects all light
Color that absorbs all light
Red, blue, and green light produce all other color of the spectrum.
Additive primary colors
Two colors added together to create white.
When mixed create all the colors of the spectrum.
Subtractive primary colors
The angle of reflection equals the angle of incidence.
Law of Reflection
Incoming light Ray
Outgoing light Ray
Imaginary line that bisects the incident and reflected rays.
Angle between the incident ray and the normal.
Angle of incidence
Angle between the reflected ray and the normal.
Angle of reflection
The classification of electromagnetic waves according to frequency.
An image caused by light rays that appear to meet but do not actually do so, cannot be projected on a screen.
Surfaces that curve outward, the image will appear smaller and virtual.
Surfaces that curve inward, image appears larger than it actually is, forms real and virtual images.
The light rays actually meet, can be projected onto a screen.
