How did Robert Bruce’s fortunes turn?
Edward I died and his son and successor Edward II ignored Scotland for some time. Bruce took advantage of this by capturing most of the castles of Scotland and getting hte Scottish nobles to recognize him as king. Finally he was able to defeat Edward II in battle.
