coordination of all the other project management knowledge areas throughout a projects life cycle. this integration ensures that all the elements of a project come together at the right times to complete a project successfully.

what are the two basis types of project knowledge
- explicit = easily explained using words, pictures or numbers and easy to communicate, store and distribute
- tacit = sometimes called informal knowledge, difficult to express and highly personal, often shared through conversation
