How would you want a reporter approaching you at this time or your family member if you died?
- Go to window of the morg and ask for ID
- Approach the people in the lobby and break the ice
- Sit and observe the different groups in the lobby
- Make eye contact with someone
- Ask are you here because of what happened?

you know there has been a shooting, 20 people died at a mcdonalds, how do you report this incident:
- News crews are already at McDonalds so you should go to hospitals were victims and their families will be
- They will arrive in ambulances so you will be able to see them arrive
Just stay at McDonalds to see the chaos, rescuing, aftermath, etc - You can also go to the morg to find out who the dead people are
- You approach the people around and affected in certain ways
why should we focus on the victim and not the killer
We do not want to focus on the person who did the crime because this leads to copycat killings and crimes because other messed up people learn the thought process and how the original killer did what they did
The last question you should always ask someone after interviewing them is to always ask
is there anything I have not asked you?
