What does it mean to covet?
To want someone or something that does not belong to you and to scheme of a way to acquire it.
What are we not to covet?
Neighbors house: others things
Neighbors spouse: other's relationships
Neighbors servants: others livelihood
What are some Biblical examples of coveting?
Genesis 3: Eve covets the fruit because she wants to be wise
Joshua 7-Achan covets forbidden treasure
2 Samuel 11: David covets Bathsheba
1 Kings 21: King Ahab covets Naboth's vineyard
What is the first commandment?
You shall have no other gods before Me.
What is the second commandment?
You shall not make idols.
What is the third commandment?
You shall not take the name of the LORD you God in vain.
What is the fourth commandment?
Remember the Sabbath day; keep it holy.
What is the fifth commandment?
Honor you father and your mother.
What is the sixth commandment?
Thou shall not murder.
What is the seventh commandment?
Thou shall not commit adultery.
What is the eighth commandment?
Thou shall not steal.
What is the ninth commandment?
Thou shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
