Who was Emmeline Pankhurst?

A

Pankhurst founded the Women’s Social and Political Union (WSPU), an all-women suffrage advocacy organisation dedicated to “deeds, not words”. Used tactics such as hunger strikes. Worked with her two daughters - Sylvia and Christabel. Was a Conservative - and paused her activism during WW1. Died a couple of weeks before the Representation of the People (Equal Franchise) Act
