Flashcards in Day 13 to 18 Deck (36):
James 4:8 (Sari)
Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.
James 4:9 (Sari)
Be wretched and mourn and weep. let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom.
James 4:10 (Sari)
Humble yourselves before the Lord, and He will exalt you
James 4:12 (Sari)
There is only one lawgiver and judge, He who is able to save and to destroy. But who are you to judge your neighbour?
James 4:13 (Sari)
Come now, you who say, "Today or tomorrow we will go into such and such a town and spend a year there and trade and make a profit"
James 4:15 (Sari)
Instead you ought to say, "if the Lord wills, we will live and do this or that".
James 4:16 (Sari)
as it is, you boast in your arrogance. All such boasting is evil
James 4:17 (Sari)
So whoever knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, for him it is sin.
James 3:1 (Ham)
Not many of you should become teachers, my brothers, for you know that we who teach, will be judged with greater strictness.
James 3:2 (Ham)
For we all stumble in many ways, And if anyone does not stumble in what he says, he is a perfect man, able also to bridle his whole body.
James 3:3 (Ham)
If we put bits into the mouths of horses so that they obey us, we guide their whole bodies as well.
James 3:4 (Ham)
Look at the ships also; though they are so large and are driven by strong winds, they are guided by a very small rudder wherever the will of the pilot directs.
James 3:6 (Ham)
And the tongue is a fire, a world of unrighteousness. The tongue is set among our members, staining the whole body, setting on fire the entire course of life, and set on fire by hell.
James 3:7 (Ham)
For every kind of beast and bird, of reptile and sea creature, can be tamed and has been tamed by mankind
James 3:8 (Ham)
but no human being can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison.
James 3:9 (Ham)
With it we bless the Lord and Father, and with it we curse people who are made in the likeness of God.
James 3:10 (Ham)
From the same mouth come blessing and cursing. My brothers, these things ought not to be so
James 3:11 (Ham)
Does a spring pour forth from the same opening both fresh and salt water?
James 3:12 (Ham)
Can a fig tree, my brothers, bear olives or a grapevine produce figs? Neither can a salt pond yield fresh water.
James 3:13 (Ham)
Who is wise and understanding among you? By his good conduct let him show his works in the meekness of wisdom.
James 3:14 (Ham)
But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast or be false to the truth.
James 3:15 (Ham)
This is not the wisdom that comes down from above, but is earthly unspiritual, demonic.
James 3:16 (Ham)
For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there will be disorder and every vile practice
James 3:18 (Ham)
and a harvest of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.
James 1:2 (Hat)
Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds.
James 1:3 (Hat)
For you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness
James 1:4 (Hat)
And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.
James 1:5 (Hat)
If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him,
James 1:6 (Hat)
But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind.
James 1:7 (Hat)
For that person must not suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord.
James 1:8 (Hat)
He is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.
James 1:9 (Hat)
Let the lowly brother boast in his exaltation.
James 1:10 (Hat)
and the rich in his humiliation, because like a flower of the grass he will pass away.
James 1:11 (Hat)
For the sun rises with its scorching heat and withers the grass; its flower falls, and its beauty perishes. So also will the rich man fade away in the midst of his pursuits.
James 1:13 (Hat)
Let no one say when he is tempted, "I am being tempted by God", for God cannot be tempted with evil, and He Himself tempts no one.
