Q
  1. Explain a fixed Rod meter change out on a Surface ship?
A

-internal
-gas free chit, single valve chit, day before ships force disconnects cable, put brass fitting on, make sure dowel rods do not spin
-Next day gas free chit
-take brass fitting off
-take off snap ring
-take boss nut off
-take o-ring off and gasket
-put brass fitting back on
-install jacking fixture
-notify topside
-jack rod meter out
-use petcock valve to check for leaks
-external
-install clamshell c/d as a bouye around rod meter
-have emergency rubber cofferdam ready if leaks are there
