Describe what delegated legislation is:
It is laws made by individuals or bodies other than parliament under authority granted by parliament
What is the enabling act?
It outlines the framework for the law and grants power to others to create detailed rules of regulations

What are the three main types of delegated legislation?
- Statutory instruments
- Orders in council

What is an example of a statutory instrument?
The Dangerous Dogs Order that was created under the authority of the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991
What are orders in council?
They are made by the King and the Privy Council, they are used to implement laws quickly, mainly during emergencies.
What is an example of an order in council?
The Emergency Regulations Order which was created under the authority of the Emergency Powers Act
