Flat, Round, Static, Dynamic, Protaganist, and Antagonist

What is a Flat character?

A

A charcter that is not well developed, the reader knows only one or two of their traits; their personality or importance to the story can be summed up in a sentence or two.

What is a Round charater?

A

A well developed character, the reader knows many of their traits, they may be complicated; they feel vibrant and real like a peron in real life

A

A character that doesn’t grow and change during the story; their personality and attitude remain the same throughout the story.

A

A character that undergoes growth and change during the story.

A

The main character often the good guy or hero in the story. Often the charcter who starts the action.

A character who works against the protaganist, occasionally the antagonist is a force rather than a character.

This type of narrator is rarely used. The reader is treated as the main character. the narrator uses the pronoun you.

A

An outside narrator not a characyter tells the story. The narrator says he and she. Third person limited is a narator who knows what one character is thinking.
Third person omniscient an all knowing narrator.
