How is the MDC handle operated?
Push button and lift
When would the MDC internal handle be used?
Smoke and fumes in the cockpit - during flight
Problem during EMRG Egress
What are the considerations for using the MDC handle?
- Confirm visor down, mask on, gloves on.
- Effect on flight handling is unknown.
What does the ACS Shut Off do?
Closes the firewall shut-off valve preventing engine bleed air from entering the cockpit
Once ACS Shut Off is pulled, what systems are lost?
OBOGS, Anti-G, Pressurisation and ACS will no longer operate
When is ACS Shut Off used?
Smoke and fumes in the cockpit - in flight
Engine fire or smoke and fumes on the ground - on ground
Engine fire - in flight

Explain oxygen sources after ACS shutoff? (Since OBOGS shutoff and no bleed air)
Cockpit is ventilated with RAM air once pulled allowing the pilot to breath through the anti-suffocation valve.
Note: VCS remains functioning
How is the EMRG Landing Gear handle activated?
Push button and pull fully out - can be stiff
What does pulling the EMRG Landing Gear handle do? (7 things)
- Lowers the Landing Gear
- Flaps extension
- 6 brake applications
- Airbrake, roll spoilers and anti-skid all OFF
- Ailerons no longer hydraulically assisted
What BOLDFACE use the EMRG LDG GEAR handle? (3 items)
Gear retraction failure, Gear lowering failure and EMRG landing checks
What does pulling the FUEL/HYD Cutoff do?
Cuts off the supply of hydraulic fluid and fuel into the engine.
When is FUEL/HYD Cutoff used? (7)
- Engine fire/smoke and fumes - on ground
- EFATO
- Engine mechanical failure
- Engine fire - in the air
- Emergency gliding and landing
- Uncommanded power changes
Which EMRG services can be reset in flight?
- FUEL/HYD Cutoff
- ACS Shut Off (QFI confirmed)
If ANTI-SKID is lost on T/O, what are you actions?
Abort T/O Boldafce
- PCL - IDLE
- Brakes - As required
Apply light braking as tyres can be damaged easily with no ANTI-SKID
