  • Metaplasia of tissue into Mullerian duct elements
  • Lymphatic and blood borne emboli of endometrial tissue

  • Chronic pain
  • Cyst formation
  • Adhesions
  • Infertility
  • Increased risk of ectopic pregnancy
  • Increased risk of malignancy due to cyst undergoing malignant change to endometroid adenocarcinoma
