lever

an irresistible urge to do sth that doesn’t really make any sense, i.e. Carl needs to flick the light switch on and off fourteen times before he goes to sleep, that’s his compulsion.
impulsive
likely to do whatever one gets the urge to do, right away, i.e. she’s so impulsive! she always speaks out without thinking.
dispel
to drive away or scatter away; to dispel a myth or a rumour, i.e. I quickly dispelled the rumour that Annie and I were separated by bringing her with me to the party.
compulsory
required by rules or regulation, i.e. taking Icelandic classes is compulsory for many years in the Icelandic educational system.
