Importance of the Old/New Testaments
The old testament is important because it describes the beginning of God’s relationship.
What is meant by Jesus’ ministry?
The teachings and work of Jesus.
What is meant by the Incarnation of Jesus?
The belief that God came to earth in human form as Jesus.
Titles for Jesus that emphasise his divine and human side?
Messiah, Son of God, Immanuel, King of kings.
What is meant by the Holy Trinity?
There are three persons in one God.
Beliefs about the Messiah.
Christians believe that Jesus is their saviour.
Repentance (John the Baptist)
John the baptist spread the word that the Messiah was coming. He told people to say sorry for what they did wrong.
Jesus baptism – what happened? Importance?
All three people of the trinity were there.Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
Discipleship.
Jesus had 12 disciples. The disciples were Jesus’ followers
Nature/healing miracles?
Nature miracle is Gods power over nature and Healing miracles are God’s power over sickness.
Story of the paralysed man
Jesus healed the paralysed man because he saw that him and his friends had lots of faith
The raising of Lazarus
Jesus was very sad after Lazarus died as ‘he wept’
Importance of the Sabbath/conflict with Jesus
The Jewish leaders wanted to kill Jesus after he healed on the Sabbath because they said that was working.
Importance of the wedding at Cana
It was Jesus’ first miracle
Parable of sheep & goats
It teaches us about death, judgement, heaven and hell.
Parable of the Lost(Prodigal) Son
This shows that God will forgive us no matter what.
Kingdom of God – meaning
God’s authority or rule (not a place)
Kingdom values – meaning
Behaviour and attitudes God wants people in his kingdom to have.
Parable of the mustard tree – what is represented?
Branches, birds, growing tree and the mustard seed.

This represents humans relationship with God.

Jesus’ arrival in Jerusalem
Jesus enters Jerusalem on Sunday to fulfill his mission to become the Messiah. This is also the start of Holy week.This day is called palm Sunday.
