What’s empiricism
Using your senses to establish truth
eg. See, touch and hear evidence of existence
What’s rationalism
Establisishing truth independently of sense experience, using logic and reason
What’s direct evidence
When you experience something for yourself and see it
What’s indirect evidence
When you do not experience it for yourself and rely on a single piece of evidence
What’s cumulative evidence
When you do not experience it for yourself but have lots of pieces of evidence
Match up the example with the type of evidence:
Direct, indirect, cumulative
Multiple people telling they have seen God
Person A seeing God for themselves
Person B being told by Person A that they have seen God
Multiple people telling they have seen God- cumulative
Person A seeing God for themselves- direct
Person B being told by Person A that they have seen God- indirect
