2 way radio - CO’s required to use radios to communicate with other staff/ management during their duties. It is critical during incidents - call for backup, notify response team, notify of movement etc to maintain the safety & security of inmates, staff and the centre.

Personal duress - they provide additional safety. When activated staff summon assistance when urgent help is needed. Eg. Inmates become aggressive and hostile / unable to contain the issue/ life - death scenario.

Cell/alarms: inmates communicate with staff while locked in during an emergency. Eg. Medical emergency. Staff are able to assist and respond in a timely manner.
