What are the 5 main steps we are using as the skeleton of the content of this year’s class? Be able to explain
truth, men, Jesus, god, church. por que es el orden que debe haver para poder explicarle a alguien lo que nuestra religion es, y si esa persona no cree en dios, tampoco va a sber que es la iglesia.
With these 5 steps we are trying to understand the Catholic WorldVision, what is that?
world vision es como la gente ve el mundo debido a lo que le fue enseñado en casa. yo por ejempplo tengo un catholic world vision debido a que en mi vida diaria lo catolico esta siempre presente.
Why is this the first and most fundamental step?
si sabemos que hay una verdad debemos primero dialogar e informarnos de ellas ya que si no estariamos viviendo y creyendo dependiendo nuestro criterio.
What is St. Thomas’ definition of truth and what does it mean?
“la conformidad entre la cosa y la mente” quiere decir que si alguien cree o dice algo que se ve o existe, esta diciendo la verdad.
What is the difference between the idea of “truth, experience and an opinion”, and how do you think the confusion these three terms has affected our society today?
la verdad es lo que se puede ver
experiecnia: conocimiento adquirido por experiencias de vida.
opinion: lo que uno cree y piensa
y esto ha afectado porque la gente piensa que la verdad puede variar dependiendo sus experiecnias y opiniones pero la verdad siempre sera una realidad objetiva.
Explain the difference between objective truth and a subjective experience and give an example.
verdad objetiva: dato que no cambia para nadie por ejemplo que la manzana es roja.
y la experiencia subjetiva es aquella que tu percibes el mundo, por ejemplo hoy hace mucho frio.
What are the four main positions which we saw in class that a person can have in regard to truth?
relativismo, esceptisimo, idealismo y realismo.
What was the definition of man which I gave in class? Be able to briefly explain the different elements.
un hombre es material y espiritu, lo cual esto le permite tener fisico y ser capaz de razonar y ser responsable de sus acciones.
Are we qualitatively different or quantitatively different than animals? What is it that makes us this way, and why is it important.
somos cualitativamente diferentes ya que somos diferentes a los animales , porque tenemos capacidades que nos permiten tener dignidad, personalidad etc en
What are some ways that we know we are spiritual beings?
tenemos consiencia, lenguaje, nos expresamos por medio del arte y hacemos culto a nuestros muertos, el cual significa que desde los primeros tiempos hemos sabido que la muerte es algo importante porque se cree que hay otra vida.
Define the spiritual faculties of man: intellect and will.
intelecto porque tenemos la capacidad de conocer la verdad y voluntad por que somos capaces de escoger libremente el bien.
