Why was Nelson Mandela put in jail?
Because Mandela was unhappy with the way black people were treated. If a black person was seen past a certain time, they will be jailed because it was against the law. Mandela did not like the law and tried to overthrow the government.
What does Madiba mean?
Madiba is a means ‘father’ in Thembu Tribe language. They called him that to thank him for the effort he put in to get what he wanted.
Who released Mandela?
The United Nations were excluding South Africa from events as they too thought it was unfair because someone was put in jail because of his skin colour.
What did Mandela do after he was released?
He kept campaigning and got elected the First Black South African in 1994. This was a huge step for black people and it made the world realise how they treated black people and how far they will go to get treated the same.
What did Mandela do in prison?
Mandela continued his studies to become a lawyer, which he accomplished.
