Q

Name a use of Friction.

A

You could have had: providing cars with traction, giving shoes grip so you do not fall over, being able to hold items, rubbing your hands together to keep yourself warm, and more answers I canโ€™t think of ๐Ÿ™„.

Q

What is the difference between Mass and Weight?

A

Mass varies depending on how heavy something is, and can be measured using scales. Weight is a force, and can be measured using a Newton meter. Weight depends on two factors, mass and Gravitational Field strength. Mass does not depend on any other factor.

Q

What does it mean to be streamlined?

A

If you are streamlined you are usually curved at the front and do not have many things jutting out. Being streamlined means you move through water (and air) more quickly.

Q

What is a non-contact force?

A

A magnetic, gravitational or electrostatic force acting between two items that are not in contact.

17
Q

What is an electrostatic force?

A

The force acting between two charged objects

18
Q

Somebody on the moon has the same ______ but different ______.

A

Somebody on the moon has the same mass but different weight.

19
Q

Define lubrication

A

A substance, usually a liquid, that reduces friction between two objects that are rubbing together.

20
Q

What Measures Weight?

A

A Newton Metre.
