2
Q

How does a vector work

A

its like a fraction in a bracket, removing the line separating the numerator and denominator. The top number signifies how much it has moved on the x axis (ie: +3 on x) and the bottom is for the y

Q

If a question says

“Enlarge triangle A by a scale factor of -2, centre is 2, 2” wyd

A

You mark the centre (2,2). Then you record the vector of how you get from the centre of enlargement to ONE of the points. Then you get that and multiply both the top and bottom number by the scale factor (-2). Then say that result is (-4 -2) then you go from the centre and move 4 spaces left and 2 down. Then you repeat for all points

Q

If a question asks on how you can describe a transformation, and its a change in position (not rotation) between 2 shapes wyd

A

you say its a translation of shape A by the vector (state the vector of how much it has moved by).

Q

How do you rotate a shape around a point without tracing paper

A

See the distance from one point in the shape to the point of origin. Then mirror that point off depending on how many degrees the rotation is and sorta bounce it off. Repeat for rest
