Gazelle Limitations Flashcards
Max wind speed for start?
40 Knots
Above 17 Knots aircraft must be into wind
Above what T4 must a vent run be carried out before start?
150 Deg C
What is the maximum T4 during start?
700 Deg C for 5 seconds
750 Deg C momentarily
The start must be aborted if one or more of five conditions are met. What conditions?
- The START light does not come on
- The INJ light does not come on within ten seconds of selecting IGN
- The T4 fails to rise within ten seconds of selecting IGN
- The STOP light comes on
- The T4 is likely to exceed 700 Deg C for more than five seconds or 750 Deg C momentarily
If the engine flames out before 9000Nc what must be done?
Hold the IGN switch until 9000Nc is achieved.
If flame out occurs above 9000Nc what should you do?
Hold the start switch at IGN for three seconds
If stagnation occurs about 14000Nc what must be done?
Terminate the start by switching off the start switch but leave the boost pump on for 10 seconds.
Complete two 20 second vent runs and wait 25 minutes before attempting start.
How many consecutive starts can the starter be used?
3 consecutive starts with a 1 minute cooling period.
3 consecutive operations must be followed by a 25 minute cooling period.
What captions remain on the CWP whilst ground power is connected?

Start switch - RUN (not more than 20 secs)
Start switch - off
After a 1 minute cooling period continue with a normal start
Pre rotor engagement torque should be what?
Minus 2% +- 1%
After releasing the rotor brake, the clutch is serviceable if no more than how many blades pass within 30 seconds?
