What is a coordinate point?
A pair of numbers defining the position of a point on a two-dimensional plane
It is often represented as (x, y) where x and y are the coordinates.
What does the Converse of the Pythagorean Theorem state?
If the square of the length of the longest side of a triangle is equal to the sum of the squares of the lengths of the other two sides, the triangle is a right triangle
This theorem is fundamental in determining whether a triangle is right-angled.
What is the hypotenuse of a right triangle?
The side of a right triangle that is directly across from the right angle
It is the longest side of the triangle.
What are the legs of a right triangle?
Either of the two shorter sides of a right triangle
These two sides form the right angle.
What is the altitude of a solid?
The perpendicular distance from the top down to the base
It represents the height of the solid.
What is a cone?
A 3-dimensional figure with a circular or elliptical base and one vertex
The vertex is the point where the sides meet.
What is a geometric solid?
The collective term for all bounded 3-dimensional geometric figures
Examples include cubes, spheres, and cones.
What is a rational number?
Any number that can be expressed as the quotient a/b of two integers, with the denominator b not equal to zero
Rational numbers include integers, fractions, and finite decimals.
What is a perfect cube?
The cube of a number n, which is its third power, resulting from the number multiplying by itself three times
For example, 2^3 = 8.
What is a cube root?
One of three identical factors of a number that is the product of those factors
For example, the cube root of 27 is 3, since 3 × 3 × 3 = 27.
