• War was going well 👍
• Early successes were celebrated 🎉
• Hitler’s popularity increased! ⬆️
• Experienced few shortages – rationing had been introduced at start of war to try and limit shortages – but had resources sent from conquered lands
• Therefore little need for propaganda to boost morale

  • rationing was increased as Germany was not war ready
  • Artificial substitutes had to be found for products.
