food shortages, anger due to treaty of versailles, the dislike of the new weimar government, low wage, loss of jobs, the want of communism

A

huge gaps between rich and poor
ex soldiers and civillians believed leader Field Marshal Hindenburg had been betrayed and despised the new politicians
German workers werent happy with wages while factory owners made vast fortunes from the war
Unstable democratic republic
Massive fall of economy and massively in debt
600,000 widows and 2 mil. children without fathers
Women were called to work and damaged ‘tradition’

What terms were included in the Treaty of Versailles

A

B Blame – Article 231, War Guilt Cause, Germany blamed for loss and damage

R Reparations – Germany had to pay for ALL damages – £6.6 Billion

U Union with Austria is forbidden – Germany and Austria had a close relationship as they fought together in the war, spoke same language and had same culture, they were banned from having a relationship with Austria which made it harder for trade

T Territory Lost – Germany lost land and lost colonies (13% of land mass)

A Army reduced in size – Army was reduced to 100,000 which included cooks, servants and cleaners which meant massive loss in jobs, they were banned from submarines and tanks

L League of Nations didnt allow access – Germany wasnt allowed to join the League of Nations which discussed how to stop another war

Why did Germany dislike the Treaty Of Versailles

A

Germans felt it was unfair and territory was stolen from germany depriving them of valuable industrial and agricultural income.
