A

They must memorize, understand and comply with the general orders. they must also understand and comply with special orders for their post. to include the use of countersign and parole word if they are in effect.

A

the parole word is used to check on the countersign when inspecting guards. Any person in a time of war that discloses the parole word or counter sign to anyone not entitled to it, shall be punished by death or such other punishment as a court-martial may direct
