How often is a Local Plan published?

A

Required, under the Town and Country Planning (Local Plan Regulations) 2012 to review every 5 years. Local Plan are often produced for a 15 year period, so updates would be published at the 5 year mark.

A

Reg 18 – make comments on anything on
Reg 19 – 4 things has to meet the 4 tests of soundness –
1. positively prepared
2. Justified
3. Effective
4. Consistent with national planning policies.
Goes to planning inspectorate and they can either approve it or throw it out

A

A

IF a council are not hitting their 5 year HLS you may appela a planning decision and so the tilted balance can be applied. IF the benefits of the site out weigh the harm then

What’s the difference between affordable rent and social rent housing?

A

Both offer lower rents than market value however, social rent is typically up to 50% of market rent whilst affordable rent can be as high as 80% of market rent.
