Q

Salt water ringmain

A

The salt water is supplied to the services that require it from a ring main running around 2 deck. It’s a ring of pipe work, running around 2 deck that can be sub- divided by the use of isolation valves.

Q

What does a pump leak-off valve?

A

Each pump has its own 10% leak off valve to prevent over pressurisation. 10% above normal pressure of 7 bar.

Q

Salt water pumps

A

Salt water flows from the sea to the strainer to the pump, the pump will then send it to a riser that sends it up to the ring main.

12
Q

Dc state 1

A

Individual HPSW pumps supply their own section of the ringmain. The ringmain is isolated by shutting the state valves to minimise effects from damage.

Q

Dc state 3

A

All main isolating/state valves open, with one pump supplying the whole system. Should system pressure drop a second pump can be started.
