tell him to stop

2
Q

You’re going out to eat with a captain and flight attendant, CA has a drink or two. You go back to the room while the CA and FA stay at dinner. The next day on the shuttle to the airport you smell alcohol on the CA, what do you do?

A

keep the captain away from the flight deck as much as possible until the proper person arrives. do not even go aboard the aircraft.
give the Captain a chance to call in sick

call supervisor or manager if required

3
Q

Would you lie to the passengers about the reasons for a flight delay if the captain told you to do so?

A

Absolutely not. Hold firm on this answer - they may try and work in different scenarios or reasons to try and get you to change your mind. At the end of the day, do not lie and stick to your guns.

4
Q

During the walk around you notice a nav light is burned out. You tell the captain and he wants to continue the flight, what would you do?

A

Is it on the MEL
Most airliners have 2 sets of nav lights, assuming the last one on that side has burned out and we are flying beyond civil twilight, I will contact maintenance myself and get it changed.

5
Q

You notice the captain is not wearing his shoulder harness as you’re accelerating through 80kts during takeoff, what would you do?

A

Takeoff phase is the most critical of the entire flight, with engine monitoring, autopilots, DPs, etc. I would continue the takeoff and bring up the issue in cruise flight above 10,000 feet.

6
Q

A

Never Aggressive as this would not suit any learning or work environment, Assertive Yes some students need to be reminded that flying is not a game and needs to be taken seriously.

What would you do if you noticed the Captain consistently flying below GS and taking the first taxiway (i.e. he gets on the brakes) in order (in his words) to save the company time and money?

You’re on a flight, landed and are already late for your next leg. During the walk around you notice wire showing on the tire. You call Maintence and told it will be a 45 minute wait until they can fix it. Your captain tells you “just tell the passengers weather is delaying us” then leaves. What would you do?

A

You don’t lie to the passengers. They expect you to have integrity. They can easily check the wx from their phones

10
Q

You are straight out of IOE and during your first approach you find yourself high. THe captain wants you to continue for the landing, what would you do?

A

Go around is always the option but it depends where on the approach you are. if you can fix it great if you cant maybe hand over to the Captain as its your first flight you dont know the limit of the aircraft, if its unsafe go around.
