what is censorship?
limiting access to materials considered to be offensive or a threat to security.
What is discrimination?
act of treating groups of people or individuals differently due to prejudice
What is extremism?
believing and supporting ideas far from most peoples correct or reasonable views
What are human rights?
The basic entitlements of all human beings, e.g all people should receive an education
What is personal conviction?
Something people feel strongly about or believe in
What is prejudice?
Pre judging someone without knowing them
What is relative poverty?
standard of poverty measured in relations to standards for society
What is absolute poverty?
Cant access basic human needs
What is social justice?
promoting fair society, ensuring everyone has equal opportunities and rights

Monitor where human rights arent uphelp
set up in 1959, protest marches, write letters to government, raise awareness through social media, run school programes

Campaigned against lack of education for girls in North Pakistan
‘i raise up my voice- not so I can shout but so those without a voice can be heard’

What is the dignity of human life?
each life is as important as eachother, we should respect ignoring age gender and ability.
Whats a humanist view on social injustice?
‘every person to be treated with dignity and respect’

human rights reflect main principles of Christianity

What is agape in action?
unconditional, selfless love. We do things to benefit others without expecting things in return following example of jesus.
What is liberation theology?
teachings and actions of jesus, he helped to liberate people from unjust. Jesus is a FREEDOM FIGHTER, Christians can take part in peaceful protests e.g Oscar Romero.
Who was Oscar Romero? what did he do?
A priest, close friend was murdered so spoke out against injustice, government banned his meetings and protests, he was gunned down while celebrating mass.
What was a saying associated with Oscar Romero?
‘be a patriot- kill a priest’
What are Muslim views on helping and equality?
everyone should be respect and treated with dignity

What article doesn’t allow censorship?
Article 19- everyone has the right to freedom of opinion and expression
Examples going against having freedom for religious expression?
In france you can’t wear any overly religious symbols in school
‘American 13 year old banned from wearing rosary to school’ even though jewllery was allowed
What do christains do to show freedom of religious expression?
Go on a mission to convert people to their faith, ‘go into all the world and preach the gospels to all creation’
