What is colour depth?

The amount of bits used to represent each pixel. The more bits used, the more colours can be represented. most images have a depth of 24bits, which can represent around the same amount of colours that the human eye can detect.

Extra data that is hidden inside the properties of images. Often stores location of creation, date of creation, date last edited etc.
